6. A pregnant woman is an individual entrepreneur (sole proprietor), but does not receive income, will she enter the preferential category under the CSHI?
Until an individual entrepreneur (sole proprietor) officially suspends his activities with the tax authorities, he is considered valid, and, accordingly, mandatory payments must be made to the CSHI, even if the sole proprietor submits a “zero declaration”.

To be included in the preferential category, a pregnant woman, an individual entrepreneur (IE)
who does not receive income, must apply to the tax authorities with an application for suspension of her activities.
After the activity is suspended, it will be able to enter the preferential category.
7. Is the preferential category canceled if a woman returns to work before her child turns three?
Women who are on parental leave before the age of 3 are included in the preferential category.

Going to work (or starting to earn income from an individual entrepreneur or other activity) means the end of this vacation.

In this case, the employer is obliged to continue payments on compulsory social health insurance (OSMS) for this employee.
It is important to note that there is often a misconception when an employer stops payments to the CSHI, thinking that the employee is still in the preferential category.
